Kneeling During the National Anthem?
Reading the The New York Times article;Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem Protest and Frederick Douglass’s ‘What to the Slave is the 4th of July?’, by Katie Harris and Tracey Barrett, I've decided that i'm not too sure how to feel about Kaepernick kneeling during the national anthem. While I do see where Kaepernick is coming from with our national political and police difficulties I don't think kneeling was a good idea. I think that because there are many other reasons we should stand for our flag one being for those who have fought for our country. In one of the pictures in the article Kaepernick was kneeling right by two troop,to me that seems a bit too disrespectful

Creepy Clowns? Yea, NO
According to online sources for the past couple weeks there have been numerous reports of clowns being spotted around the US. Some people say the clowns are really trying to hurt people some say it's advertisement for a movie. I'm not scared of clowns but I do admit that it is really creepy. If I were to see one in person i'd probably stay away just in case it actually is a killer clown. I wanted to blog about this because a friend of mine saw one in a town near to mine and I wasn't to sure what to think about it. What would you do if there are creepy clowns roaming your town?

Mirrors Ad Review
This advertisement for Hillary Clinton uses ethos to persuade it's audience by using a direct voiceover of Donald Trump making it credible. It wasn't a he said she said advertisement where competitors try to quote each other sometimes leaving out some information. The clip used a lot of ethos by playing the innocent piano instrumental and displaying the young girls, also because of the text at the end of the video "Is this the president we want for out daughters" making it very personal. Lastly it used logic because it would logical not to pic a president that is speaks badly about woman and has had a history of not respecting them. Overall a very persuasive ad.

First blog!
On the second day of class with Dr. Kyburz we watched a video called "This is Water" by David Foster Wallace. I've seen the video before through Facebook and remember really liking it however over time I just forgot about it. After re-watching it one line from the whole video stuck out me. Mr.Wallace said " YOU get to consciously decide what has meaning what doesn't ". When he said that it hit me. Since I have the chance to pick what matters I shouldn't just think about my self and try to consider other people during everyday life. Now, it's always said easier than done but it's a good reminder and I will definitely try to consider others especially when I'm not having a good day.
