Congratulations to my fellow classmates. Our College Writing 2 journey has come to an end. Some of us more drained than others, but we made it. One of my noted flaws before this class was that I didn't believe in my writing, I always felt like my work wasn't as sharp as others. But over the course I learned new techniques and gained confidence in my writing. When I write I always have had trouble putting my thoughts on to paper or starting a paper. Dr.Kyburz influenced me to write more drafts/ summaries. This was a new technique, by doing this it taught me that these small summaries make it a lot easier to get started and get ideas out on paper. One of the greater accomplishments was the following project.
Microtheme
This was a challenging project for me because it was a new concept. It was the first writing assignment I have ever received were we had only one page to work with. Were most of the writing assignments want the writer to expand the length of their work. Yes one page, sounds easy right! WRONG. This small slate to work on made it difficult because it caused me to deeply analyze through and delete what I didn't need. Getting my point across with short amount of writing.
Multimodal
The multimodal was one of my favorite projects from this course. It was fun experimenting with the Video Editor and learning new ways to use it. I also think it is important that writing classes should include something like this because it allows us to actually use our advancing technology. I also love this assignment because it allowed us to make our own story from the images we see. Everyone had their own interpretations and we had the chance open to the class and explain what we saw.
You have come so far, Steven! Like others, there is still some polishing to be done, but your willingness to dive in has served you well!! So, as you say, going forward, remember to PARTICIPATE! :)
