One of the pictures I took from my IPhone |
This summer I had the opportunity to visit the iconic Yosemite National Park in California. And other than the two hour car ride from a relatives house and my ears constantly popping it was the experience of a lifetime. The scenery was unbelievable. The mountains where HUGE, now living thirty minutes from Chicago i've seen the largest architecture in the city which is the "Willis Tower" Aka "Sears Tower" that is 1,729ft. To put it perspective most of the mountains averaged at about 10k ft which would be about 5 Willis Towers stacked on top of each other. Thinking about it like that made Yosemite seem so unreal for me, like if I was watching a movie.
I went this summer too, at the beginning of August. I can definitely agree with you about the long car ride, except I had a 4 hour car ride. The ears popping was annoying at first, but then I got over it. The scenery was breath-taking. Every morning i woke up at 8 to go hiking and would come back at 7 to have dinner. I saw lots of deer while I was there. When driving from the checkpoint to my hotel, I saw a cub which was kind of cool. Every car was stopping to take pictures, so of course my family did too. I recommend that everyone goes here at least once to get away and enjoy the beauty of nature.
ReplyDeleteThis is a breathtaking picture. I went to California a couple of years ago but we did not visit this location. We actually went to Redwood National and State Park. It was a great scenery and it is a place to just walk and see trees bigger than you could imagine. Have you ever gone to Starved Rock? That is one of my personal favorites. I love hiking around the area. Also, are you interested in photography? I love the nature aspect of the earth. I mean, it is amazing how tall mountains and everything around you can be. Like you said, it is as if it is unreal.
